I have a hot take. Jungsik was good, but not the mind-blowing I was anticipating. I had very high expectations of Jungsik especially after having to been to Jua, and was excited to experience more contemporary Korean cuisine. It's difficult not to compare the two. Given that Jungsik has two stars, and had a significantly greater price point than Jua's one star, I was expecting it to be out of this world. The food was excellent, don't get me wrong, with special attention to the appetizer to start (was phenomenal; the entire five dishes were a "taste" of the dishes to follow, and it was interesting to follow this thread throughout the remainder of the meal), and the heavenly octopus (best I ever had, succulent yet crispy in all the right places). However, the rest didn't stand out as strongly to me. A point of personal bias may be that I prefer lighter, more acidic foods versus (sashimi, vegetables) more heavier, saucier foods, which Jungsik had more of. I also felt that the desert add-ons weren't worth it, and I was expecting more of a stand out in these dishes that would cost extra. Service was outstanding though, and the waiters and waitresses were incredibly hospitable and kind. Incredible food and service, but would I return? Probably not, you can catch me at Jua

The best fine dining experience I've ever had. It truly deserves the three Michelin star. Food, service, ambiance were all 10/10!!

Wow! What an experience. Food was incredible from the very first bite until the last. Service is high quality, not synchronized but very professional, and anticipated the needs of the customer. There was only one instance in the first dish where five items were served on individual pedestals where were had to reach over another item in order to eat it in the chef's recommended order. My favorites included the banchan, kimbap, octopus and desserts! Great flavors and textures - including crispy crusts and soft succulent flesh. I loved all the desserts - including the 'carrot' cake and the truffle cone! The pastry chef perfectly balances taste with ingenuity and creativity. We also got the premium wine pairing which was great. The atmosphere chic and calm, great for small groups or couples. My only slight qualm was that one of the servers was very pushy about us ordering more drinks. This felt out of place at a fine dining establishment, and every other member of staff was so helpful and friendly that I think this was an anomaly.

A very enjoyable experience and service. They made it very special for my birthday and was definitely full by the end. They were very accommodating for my dairy free restriction which was appreciated. The wife had the full vision but didn't notice too much of a difference through out the menu. For a two Michelin star in New York, I was expecting a taste bud euphoria trip which never really happened. Everything was just really good. The sea urchin was only thing we didn't enjoy. Texture and taste was off and at a premium for add on made it a less than appealing choice. The wagyu was almost too tender like bone marrow. The ventura mencia ribeira sacra I would drink again. Great fruit forward wine but not too sweet. The woojeon tea first steeping was excellent. Don't bother with second steeping. No taste. The desserts were fantastic with the stand out being the refreshing palate cleanser snowball I call it :)
